Mountain Harvest Pumpkin Martini
Ingredients
2 oz bourbon
1 tbsp West Virginia Fruit & Berry Pumpkin Butter
1 oz apple cider
½ oz pure maple syrup (We use Richters Maple House)
½ oz fresh lemon juice
½ oz heavy cream (optional, for a creamier cocktail)
Pinch of cinnamon
Ice
For the rim: 1 tbsp sugar mixed with ¼ tsp cinnamon, plus a little maple syrup to help it adhere.
Instructions
Add the bourbon, pumpkin butter, apple cider, maple syrup, lemon juice, cinnamon and optional cream to a shaker. Add plenty of ice and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds. The pumpkin butter needs a thorough shake to blend smoothly.
3. Strain and garnish
Double-strain into the prepared coupe glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or a thin apple slice.
My recommendation for the final flavor
Start without the cream. It lets the pumpkin butter, bourbon, and apple cider stand out. If the drink tastes too sweet, add a little more lemon juice; if it tastes too tart, add a small amount of maple syrup.
For a second option, substitute vodka for bourbon and omit the cream for a cleaner, more traditional pumpkin martini.
