Fig and Gruyere Bacon Grilled Cheese

INGREDIENTS:

2 Tbsp. butter, softened

4 Slices ciabatta, sourdough, or French Bread. (We use Tomaro’s out of Clarksburg)

2-3 Tbsp West Virginia Fruit and Berry Fig Preserves

2/3 Cup shredded gruyere cheese

6 strips cooked bacon (safe temp 145°)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Preheat skillet to medium - low.

  2. Spread our Fig preserves on other side of each slice.

  3. Add 2 pieces of bread to skillet, buttered side down. Sprinkle cheese evenly between each piece of bread. Add 3 strips of bacon to each piece of bread. Top each with remaining pieces of bread, fig side down.

  4. Cook 3-5 minutes per side, until crisp and golden-brown. Enjoy immediately, refrigerating any leftovers.
